Why Do So Few Children Walk or Bike To School? What Can We Do About It?

On Dec 4th from 3:00-4:30pm at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute (room R154) we will be holding a town hall style presentation followed by discussion/questions on the subject of active transport in children.

We will have three expert speakers discussing different facets of the subject. Dr. Allana LeBlanc from ParticipACTION will discuss the annual Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Youth, Kaira Plourde from Ottawa Public Health will discuss how public health nurses work with schools to make active transportation easier and safer for Ottawa schools, and Dr. Richard Larouche from the Healthy Active Living and Obesity Research Group at CHEO will discuss strategies for promoting active transport to school.

This event is free and is open to anyone and snacks and refreshments will be served.
