- In Canada, over 2 million children are overweight or obese; many will grow up to become obese adults.
- Obesity in adulthood is associated with chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
- Little is known about how best to help obese children and their families become healthier.
- By working together we can create a strong evidence base to support pediatric weight managment.
