OBESITY+ keeps information lean
Reliable and relevant literature on obesity to support quality care is now only a mouse click away.
The Canadian Obesity Network (CON) is pleased to announce the launch of the Online Best Evidence Service In Tackling ObesitY Plus (OBESITY+), an exciting new knowledge tool for health providers with an interest in obesity.
OBESITY+ will be based on the innovative McMaster Online Rating of Evidence (MORE) service, as well as the latest research on information retrieval conducted at the Health Information Research Unit (HIRU) at McMaster University. OBESITY+ will provide CON members with the latest best and most relevant evidence for their clinical practice on the causes, course, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of obesity and its related metabolic and mechanical complications.
“Obesity Plus is a much-needed resource for professionals who deal with this disease on a daily basis,” says CON Scientific Director Dr. Arya M. Sharma. “This tool will cut through the volumes of information that are published on a weekly basis, and refocus it on manageable and actionable knowledge tailored to individual practice needs.”
Physicians and nurses in active, independent clinical practice are currently invited to rate articles for dissemination through OBESITY+. The service will expand in the very near future to include other key professions, including dietitians, psychologists, kinesiologists, physiotherapists and more.
