8th Annual Obesity Summer Boot Camp: Accepting applications

July 20-28, 2013 (Kananaskis, Alberta)

The Canadian Obesity Network-Réseau canadien en obésité (CON-RCO) and the University of Alberta are pleased to announce the 8th installment of the Obesity Summer Boot Camps, which will take place from July 20-28, 2012. 

This year, we expect another great response from the obesity community – the last seven events received more than 500 applications from obesity students, young researchers, clinical fellows, clinical researchers and young health professionals. 

The 8th Obesity Summer Boot Camp is open to 24 MSc/PhD students, young researchers, clinical fellows, young clinical researchers  in their last year, or within five years of, completing their training.  The boot camp will cover all aspects of obesity, ranging from epidemiology and public health to cell biology, energy regulation, clinical management and health policy.  

Cost: $2500 (includes syllabus, full program, meals, breaks and select social events).

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

CON-RCO and University of Alberta have made several changes to the Annual Obesity Summer Boot Camp. All applicants are responsible for their own travel expenses and registration fee. There will be a limited number of scholarship awards (to cover the cost of the $2500 registration fee) available for full-time Canadian Students (MSc or PhD). Students will be required to provide proof of full-time student status.  There is no separate application for the scholarship awards- the highest ranking applicants (based on the submission of the requirements listed below) will receive the awards.
