The Advanced Certified Bariatric Educator program will help you to implement your Certified Bariatric Educator (CBE) knowledge, and support outpatient obesity prevention and management through health coaching. Learn how to implement health coaching skills and use existing resources to support at-risk or bariatric patients in primary care,
community centres, and specialty clinics. This four-day classroom program will focus on the real-world application of bariatric education and health coaching skills through interactive learning with your interprofessional peers.
Who Should Take This Course?
Registered health care profession or allied health professional supporting bariatric surgical patients, bariatric medical patients, or persons with obesity.
Pre-requisite: Certified Bariatric Educator (CBE) from the Canadian Obesity Network or international equivalent.
The program is offered as a partnership between York University and the Canadian Obesity Network. The program uses a professional development format and is non-degree and non-credit. Participants who complete this program will receive a certificate of completion from York University and designation of Advanced Certified Bariatric Educator (A-CBE) from the Canadian Obesity Network.
