UBC Interprofessional Continuing Education in partnership with CHEO, will be hosting the 6th Conference on Recent Advances in the Prevention and Treatment of Childhood and Adolescent Obesity: Understanding the Interplay between Physical and Mental Health.
Taking place October 24-26, 2016, this year’s conference will be held at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, Ontario. This conference will be of interest to professionals/students wanting to share issues and experiences regarding childhood & adolescent obesity.
This year’s conference brings together an interdisciplinary group of professionals including Annick Buchholz, Kathy Kater, Jean-Philippe Chaput, John Lyons and Joseph Skelton, who will be focusing on the role of mental health in the etiology and management of childhood and adolescent obesity at the policy, school, public health and all care levels through a mental health lens. Topics will be discussed through plenary and oral presentations, with the opportunity to view a variety of poster presentations and exhibits during breaks.
